About the Spanish-Finnish Chamber of Commerce (CCHF)
The CCHF is a member-funded, non-profit organization established in 1979 to strengthen the commercial and technological ties between Finland and Spain. We connect corporate and individual members, providing them with crucial market information and inspiration through professional, high-value networking and social events. CCHF membership is growing rapidly, and, we are dedicated to ensuring the time members spend with the CCHF is productive and valuable.
The CCHF community is founded on combining the cultural and business strengths and professional expertise of Spain and Finland. Our activities span Madrid, Barcelona, and Malaga, with partners including the Embassy of Finland, Business Finland, Finncham, and other European Chambers of Commerce in Spain.
The Opportunity: Lead Our Growth
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the marketing, events, and day-to-day operations of a growing organization.
We prioritize candidates with an interest in the relationship between Spain and Finland, alongside international business, technology, and trade, as these are central to driving success for our members.
The position is the Chamber’s operational lead, which entails working in a highly collaborative manner with the Board of Directors and managing one or two trainees. This role offers an autonomous environment and a potential extension from a part-time to full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and coordination across all of the Chamber’s key activities:
1. Marketing and Communications
Member Dialogue & Channel Growth: Utilize all digital platforms (including LinkedIn, Instagram, website, WhatsApp, and email) not just for broadcasting, but also for creating two-way dialogue, responding to member needs, and actively growing community engagement.
Content Strategy & Production: Develop and produce high-quality, relevant content (visuals, text, multimedia) that informs, inspires, and highlights member value to promote the CCHF brand and mission.
External Engagement & Representation: Act as a professional representative of the CCHF, proactively communicating with members, partners, and senior executives at both internal and external functions.
2. Event Management and Production
Event Management (End-to-End): Lead the organization of a diverse event portfolio, from high-value thematic business events (~50 attendees) to larger social gatherings and dinners (100+ attendees).
Long-Term Planning: Manage complex event projects that require long lead times (3 to 12 months), ensuring systematic execution and high attention to detail.
Partnership Coordination: Coordinate event logistics with the Finnish Embassy, Business Finland, universities, and corporate sponsors.
3. Operations and Administration
Financial & Database Management: Oversee the membership lifecycle, including collecting fees, maintaining an up-to-date membership database, invoicing, and handling administrative tasks using our partially automated systems.
Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for members and non-members, proactively engaging with key partners and senior executives.
Trainee Supervision: Recruit, mentor, and manage one or two trainees.
Qualifications
Required Experience
Professional Background: A university degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field AND/OR a minimum of 5 years of hands-on professional experience in event management, marketing, or operations.
Systematic Organization: Strong systematic skills and consistent attention to the details required for high-quality project and event execution.
Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage a high volume of work with minimal supervision.
Tech Proficiency: Experience working with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and proficiency in basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva or similar platforms).
Language & Engagement
Required Languages: Strong written and verbal communication abilities in Spanish and English. Proficiency in Finnish is a significant advantage.
Professional Engagement: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse audiences, from trainees to senior-level corporate executives.
Public speaking skills are considered an advantage.
Reporting
This role reports directly to the CCHF Chairman of the Board.
Start date
Flexible start time. The position will be filled once the right candidate has been found.
