FASE Method: Bringing Nordic and Mediterranean Ways of Working Together
We are pleased to welcome FASE Method® as a new member of the Finnish-Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 2016, FASE Method is a consultancy specialising in personal and team effectiveness. Its mission is to help leaders and organisations work more effectively without sacrificing their wellbeing, personal lives or sense of purpose. The FASE Method® focuses on four key areas: Focus, Attention, Systematisation and Energy. More than 3,000 executives across over 100 organisations and 14 countries have worked with the method.
As part of welcoming FASE Method to our community, we spoke with Agustín Peralt about the company’s approach, the value of combining Nordic and Mediterranean perspectives, and his new book, Work Like a Nordic, Live Like a Mediterranean, co-authored with Joris Van der Schoot.
Work Like a Nordic, Live Like a Mediterranean
The book grew out of years of working with leaders across different countries. Peralt explains that he repeatedly encountered two contrasting approaches to work and life.
Nordic professionals often excel in structure and planning, while Mediterranean professionals bring a strong focus on connection and relationships. Yet both approaches have their own blind spots.
For Peralt and Van der Schoot, the answer is not to choose between the two. Instead, the book explores how the strengths of both approaches can complement each other. Nordic structure can create the space needed to be more intentional, while the Mediterranean approach reminds us to use that space for relationships, energy and a fulfilling life.
The book’s central message is simple: working more does not necessarily mean performing better. Sustainable effectiveness is not about maximising the number of hours worked, but about managing our energy, attention and intention. For leaders in particular, this starts with learning to lead themselves, before they can effectively lead others.
Ten principles for sustainable effectiveness
The book is built around 10 commandments for working effectively without giving up a full life. Rather than treating them as separate rules, Peralt sees their real value in how they work together to create a practical system for leading yourself and maintaining balance.
Among the principles he considers particularly transformative is the idea that what is not written down, scheduled or measured is unlikely to happen or improve. Another encourages people to ask whether they are simply “floating” through their work or actively navigating it with intention.
The book also focuses on the traditional concept of time management and the importance of boundaries: the quality of our “yes” depends on how confidently we can say “no”. Finally, sustainable effectiveness is closely connected to habits, as consistent behaviours gradually shape both our professional and personal lives.
Although the book is particularly relevant for executives, entrepreneurs and professionals, its principles can also benefit those at the beginning of their careers. According to Peralt, learning to prioritise intentionally, manage energy and build meaningful relationships early on can become a long-term advantage, allowing young professionals to develop sustainable habits before responsibilities and complexity increase.
From individual effectiveness to stronger teams
FASE Method’s approach extends beyond individual productivity. The company is increasingly focusing on how personal effectiveness can contribute to stronger teams and organisational cultures.
Rather than adding more meetings, tools and collaboration to already overwhelmed teams, FASE Method starts with the individual: when people regain their focus, energy and effective habits, these strengths can spread across the team, creating a shared approach and a stronger culture of effectiveness.
FASE Method is also exploring the use of AI to redesign processes and recover valuable working hours, as well as working with executive assistants and chiefs of staff to help protect leaders’ time. The company also runs open sessions with organisations across Europe and is interested in bringing practical sessions and collaborations to the CCHF community.
We are delighted to welcome FASE Method to our community and look forward to discovering new opportunities for collaboration between Finland and Spain.
